This is the private site of Machiel Vincent
van Mechelen. Those who recognize the alliteration in my full
name and in the initials MVVM and who like
the sound of it are referred to the
Vocabulary of Alliteration, a new aid for
writing poems and songs, among which
my own poems.
(Someone gave MVVM the other meaning of Model View ViewModel when
this acronym had been used by me on the internet for ten years, on sites
giving publicity to the
in particular.)
You may also or first wish to read
some informal personal information
about me or to pay
my deceased cat,
immortalized in many words and two pictures, a virtual visit.
The 'note' at the top of this document is being replaced once a
month, in line with
a truly global and globally relevant chronology.
If you have missed out on some of the previous aphorisms or statements, or
want to see them again, you may go to the collected
Notes of the Metric Months.
These are only short notes.
For novel ideas which require more (two-dimensional) space you should have
a look at
Notes and Papers, among which
Mathematical Notes and Papers.
(Did you know √1000=20?)
Perhaps, you are more interested in sparrows, which is, of course, your
every right.
If
A Sparrow in Northumbria
is not enough (or too much), you can always try one of the real
short stories, of which one is really short.
Should you find me a rather puzzling personality, you might be
right in one respect and wrong in another, for i prefer making puzzles
(interactive
crosswords and
sliding puzzles) to solving those of
others.
Yours truly, painted by Papa
a few years ago (or was it a few years old?)
This site was started in the Amsterdam Digital City in the 51st year after
the end of the Second World War, in the nongraphic text-browser era.
(See
what it looked like then!)
Five years later, when TRINPsite abandoned its xs4all.nl address,
MVVM took over.
Another five years later this multilingual site became accessible via its
own, transnational domain name: mvvm.net.
I am also the 'site planner' of
,
a denominational Web site with philosophical, literary and other texts,
pictures and sound files.
A large part of it consists of documents of the
.
You can find a number of Model links at this site too. TRINPsite is a home
for people who believe in, or want to know more about, the primacy of
norms and values in general, and truth,
relevance, inclusiveness, neutrality and personhood in particular.
People like me ... and like you, perhaps?
